FAMILY - Mommy and Me Porch Session
Covid-19 took us all by surprise. We’re doing our best adapting to the new norm of being confined to our homes and patiently waiting for this ugly virus to be controlled and hoping for things to get back to normal. Like most small businesses around the world, we wedding and family photographers have been finding ourselves temporarily unemployed. Since we are naturally creatives, it didn’t take long for Porch Sessions to become popular. I definitely wanted to try it out, but as this was a controversial topic , I wanted to be mindful of everyone’s situation and decided not to offer them until I considered it appropriate.
For Mother’s Day, I wanted to gift one of my best friends a Mommy and Me photoshoot because: a) she’s a freakin’ badass mom and b) I ADORE her “not so tiny anymore” humans. What a perfect excuse to try this out, right? I wore a mask the entire time and shot from the sidewalk and by the side of their house with my 70-200 mm telephoto lens the entire time. The outcome totally exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to do this again! The little ones air hugged me at the end and I almost shed a tear. I can’t wait to hug their little bodies again :’(.
Hope you’re all doing your very best to keep yourselves and your families safe. Sending “air hugs” to all of you!
